**Job Description**

We’re currently looking for a **Simulation Specialist** to join our **Simulations & Control Department** in the **Marine and Power Conversion** business.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the development of advanced control systems, power conversion, and performance optimization for industrial and marine applications. You’ll work alongside a highly skilled R&D team and contribute to cutting-edge simulation frameworks used across our product development lifecycle
**Location:** Vaasa or Tampere, Finland
**Job Responsibilities**
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
1. Develop simulation models for grid power converters, inverters, and battery energy storage systems.
2. Develop the FMUs of our products and facilitate their simulation testing.
3. Function as a bridge between our software development teams and system engineers.
4. Coordinate with various departments for the extensive testing and validation of simulation models and functional mock-up units (FMUs).
5. Study the behavior of our grid connected converters at different grid fault levels and operating states.
6. Participate in global cross functional project teams.
**Background & Skills**
We imagine you have a strong technical foundation and an analytical mindset, with the ability to simplify complexity through simulation.
**Required qualifications:**
1. Master’s degree in Power Electronics/Power Systems.
2. 2+ years of experience in simulation studies of grid connected power electronic devices.
3. In-depth knowledge of simulation and programming in MATLAB & Simulink, and either PSCAD or DIGSilent PowerFactory or PSS/E.
4. Knowledge of Python programming, git for version control.
5. Knowledge of the working process of TSOs and DSOs.
6. Experience with coding and ability to write and understand C and C++.
7. Effective problem-solving skills, and ability to work as part of a team.
8. Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English.
**Preferred qualifications (in addition to the required qualifications)**
1. Knowledge of grid code compliance requirements.
2. Experience in Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) systems, robot framework, Azure Devops, and git.
