Martin Health’s Express Care located on SE Tiffany Avenue in sunny Port St. Lucie, Florida is looking to add a Simulation Facilitation Specialist to the team. In this role, you will be in charge of facilitating the implementation of designated simulation programs. With support from the simulation team Manager and Simulation Education Specialists (SES), you will provide guidance to other simulation facilitators, learners, and/or team members during simulation activities as well as provide instructions on the use of simulation equipment. It will be your goal to ensure a safe learning environment. Not only does this role offer flexibility with its schedule, but it also provides you with opportunities to grow and develop professionally. 

 

 

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM—3:00PM. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:   

Offer input on the simulation objectives and relay information to the other members of the simulation team. 

Collaborate as appropriate to modify simulation to meet the needs of the learners. 

Incorporate principles of education, appropriate attitudes, ethical and legal aspects of a teacher into interactions with simulation center staff and clinic personnel while maintaining good standing as a role model in healthcare education. 

Utilize fidelity and realism in simulation activities to promote a high level of learner engagement. 

Utilize appropriate document templates to record simulation outcomes. 

Serve as facilitator for simulation with a primary focus on in-situ simulation (in the clinical environment) using simulation standards of best practice. 

Provide expert guidance and support to simulation users in using various modalities (e.g., virtual reality, in-situ, human factors design). 

Work closely with manager in maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies necessary for simulation activities. 

Report and document latent safety threats identified during a simulation activity and mitigate and/or escalate threats as appropriate. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare or related field and four years of experience in a healthcare environment OR an Associate’s Degree in a healthcare-related field and six years of training/teaching experience, including healthcare simulation training 

Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) instructor status upon or within 2 years of hire 

Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator within 2 years of hire 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

Two years of experience as an American Heart Association instructor in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or  
Pediatric Life Support (PALS) 

Three years of experience training/teaching in healthcare simulation education 

Experience teaching American Heart Association (AHA) courses 

Computer literacy in PC-based software applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.

Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

Ability to move up to 85 pounds with assistance.

Valid driver’s license.

Ability to drive and travel using personal vehicle and/or simulation vehicles.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
