Job Summary

The STARE Signals Management / IFF Engineer is responsible in assisting the USG customer in taking a program through Radar Spectrum analysis, Radio Frequency Authorization (RFA)and AIMS IFF Certification through sensor development and USG acceptance. Responsibilities include supporting the government development of the appropriate application process (DD 1494) for spectrum approval, supporting the development of applications for AIMS certification process for IFF components, and system integration with appropriate C2 systems. Successful applicant should understand and be able to work with the Army Spectrum Management Office (ASMO), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to support the submittal and tracking of radiation requests for radars and IFF subcomponents.   An understanding of Radar Spectrum radiation requirements and impact are desired.  An understanding of Position, Navigation, and Timing (APNT) interface definition and requirements is also desired.

Roles and Responsibilities

This individual will support program success through integration of current and projected spectrum and IFF system requirements development, performance assessments, program planning, upgrade concepts, and countermeasures over the lifecycle of the system.

Other roles and responsibilities include:

Represent STARE in Integrated Fires (IF) Systems Engineering Spectrum and IFF Working Groups and other RF related meetings/working groupsFacilitate stakeholder agreements on spectrum and IFF related support packages

Basic Qualifications

Must have an active SECRET clearance with ability to obtain a TOP SECRET clearanceA Bachelor of Science in engineering, physics, or related engineering discipline or other STEM disciplines is required.5+ years’ experience required

Preferred Qualifications

A Master of Science in engineering, physics, or related engineering discipline or other STEM disciplinesExperience with defense systemsExperience in high fidelity RF spectrum and radar modelsExperience with IFF and Position Navigation and Timing
