About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide communication access and real-time interpretation for deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals in a long-term substitute capacity. You will interpret spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL) and voice ASL back into spoken English, ensuring full access to activities, interactions, and various environments.
This opportunity is ideal for interpreters who value meaningful, person-centered work and enjoy building rapport within a consistent, structured schedule.
Minimum Requirements
+ Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
+ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in interpreting, Deaf studies, or related field (preferred)
+ State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate, if applicable
+ Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certification, per state or client requirement
+ Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification, if applicable
+ Compliance with professional standards of practice
+ Current CPR certification, if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable
+ Current health certificate, if required
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age

+ Charting System: None
+ Shift Days: Monday–Friday
+ Start Date: Immediate
+ Pay Rate: $40 per hour

+ Provide accurate ASL/English interpretation
+ Facilitate communication access during all required activities and interactions
+ Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
+ Collaborate with relevant team members as needed
+ Support engagement, clarity, and accessibility for individuals receiving services
+ Uphold professionalism and compliance with all guidelines
