Responsible for complex Signal System testing, upgrades, and repairs for the Signal Systems Section. Performs programming of programmable microprocessor based signal equipment and high level mandated system tests for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit's (DART) Ways, Structures & Amenities Division.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs necessary programming of microprocessor based Signal System components including, but not limited to GENISYS, Microlock, VHLC, ElectrologIXS, and VECOM TWC equipment.Troubleshoot, and repair/replace microprocessors, computers, and recorder/analyzing equipment, and ability to interpret and analyze data .Performs complex tests on Signal Systems including, but not limited to, Approach Locking, Route Locking, Detector Locking, Traffic Locking and Time Locking.Performs Vital Relay testing.Interprets circuit configurations and integrated circuit flow diagrams to develop and implement effective solutions for operational faults of Signal subsystems and components.Maintains the appropriate testing period for all complex Signal System tests, creates and maintains all appropriate documentation for these tests.Troubleshoots, tests, repairs and maintains complex electronic Signal Systems in the field and in the shop.Troubleshoot, and repair/replace the fiber optics network used for the Signal System.Performs preventative maintenance inspections and repairs to the system and components including PC boards, microprocessors, power supplies, and subassemblies mechanical/electronic/electrical.Conducts diagnostic tests on Signal subsystems and components.Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair/replace electrical equipment using voltages ranging from 12vdc to 480vac.Responsible for safe functioning of signal equipment governing train movement during repairs, renewals, replacement, or inclement weather.Comply with AREMA, FRA, APTA, and FTA rules and regulations.Interfaces with city technicians, vendors, internal and external contacts.Performs other related duties as assigned.MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
