Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job
Displays and maintains the highest level of customer service and professionalism to patients and staff.
Drives customers to and from SEARHC facilities for appointments.
Uses good judgment and safe driving skills.
Keeps a timely shuttle route.
Assists passengers getting in and out of vehicles and assisting with loading wheelchairs, strollers, luggage, etc.
Uses phone (with hands-free device) to communicate with passengers and other drivers.
Keeps a record of trips including names of passengers and destination or pick-up point, pick up, and drop off times.
Notifies lead of any servicing the shuttle vehicle may require such as oil changes, tires, cleaning, and general maintenance.
Maintains a professional appearance.
Assures shuttle vehicles are clean and inspected at the beginning and end of every shift.
Offers passengers an opportunity to complete a satisfaction survey.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Details:
Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required
High School diploma or GED - preferred
Unrestricted, current Alaska driver’s license
Experience Required
3-6 months’ experience as shuttle driver or similarly related customer service field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of
Knowledge and demonstrated use of customer service principles.
Knowledge of local road system(s).
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Skills in
Skill in operating a computer, utilizing a variety of software applications.
Skill in using a database.
Ability to
Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to respond quickly in urgent situations with attention to detail.
Ability to problem solve and use conflict resolution skills.
