Beyond School, a small, project-based, holistic micro-school in La Jolla, CA, is seeking a long-term substitute educator to join our vibrant mixed-age learning community (ages 7–12). Our model blends progressive education, student-driven inquiry, experiential projects, and whole-child development. As a Substitute Teacher, you’ll ensure a seamless continuation of learning during our primary teacher’s absence while maintaining the joyful, mindful, and creative culture that defines Beyond School. This is a unique opportunity for an emerging or credentialed educator who wants to gain meaningful, hands-on classroom experience in an innovative, supportive environment. Our primary teacher will be leaving to get married, and we’re looking for a kind, motivated, and flexible educator to step in and lead our morning academic block. This role functions more like a supported teaching placement than a traditional sub position: you’ll receive structure, mentorship, and the opportunity to lead authentic student learning.
