The Role

The Shop Technician I primarily works in the shop making repairs to oilfield equipment as required.

Pay Starts at $19.85. Can be adjusted with experience.

Schedule: 6:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday with the opportunity for overtime. On-call periods will be required every other week.

What you will do:

Provide our customers with excellent engineering solutions through our products and superior customer serviceEffectively demonstrate the core values of SPM Oil & Gas at all timesAssemble and break down, clean new or used equipment, inspect, repair and test grease and paint equipmentRead and follow standard operating proceduresExecute general shop maintenance such as cleanup of the shop, work area, and equipmentPerform shipping and receiving responsibilitiesBe responsible for the safety of self and others including reporting of all work-related injuries, near misses, equipment damage and unsafe acts to supervisor or senior technician as soon as practicableTroubleshoot, repair, reassemble and test equipment based on customer communicationsMaintain SPM Oil & Gas company supplied assets and any other equipment, including site specific equipment, as it relates to company policyMaintain a professional appearance and work attitude at all timesDemonstrate the ability to perform independently or in a team settingFollow all written policies and procedures safely without deviation or refer to upper management for guidanceExhibit and advocate exemplary safety culture at all timesExhibit a high degree of integrity at all timesAdhere to and exercise Stop Work Authority and Management of ChangePerforms other duties as assigned

What you will have:

Three months of equivalent work experience or trainingDemonstrate consistency, accountability, reliability, and solid work ethicWorking knowledge of oil and gas equipmentPrevious experience with hand tools, power tools and air tools

Physical Demands: 

Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hearRequired to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlMust occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusMust be able to wear protective footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the department

Work Environment: 

Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particlesFrequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditionsOccasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibrationNoise Level: Moderate

Summary Pay Range:

$19.85 - $26.55

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
