We are seeking a Shop Manager to lead operations at our Frederickson fleet maintenance facility. This role oversees a shop of 16 employees and is responsible for maintaining approximately 2,100 pieces of equipment safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

This is a strong fit for a player-coach, someone who has worked hands-on in a shop environment and grown into leadership. The ideal candidate understands the technical side of fleet maintenance, can step in when needed, and leads by example while developing and mentoring their team.

What You'll Do

Lead day-to-day shop operations, prioritizing and assigning repairs based on urgency and technician skillset

Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of 16 shop employees

Ensure equipment readiness and reliability across 2,100 fleet assets

Monitor repair quality, reduce repeat repairs, and enforce preventative maintenance (PM) standards

Lead daily safety meetings and foster a culture centered on safety, teamwork, and accountability

Partner with Dispatch and Operations to ensure reliable, on-time equipment availability

Track repairs, workflow, and shop performance while maintaining budget discipline

Support operational needs, including after-hours and storm response situations

What You'll Bring

3–5 years of hands-on experience with diesel engines, trailers, heavy equipment, or specialized fleet assets

Minimum 2 years of leadership experience, supervising or leading technicians or shop personnel

Proven success leading within a working shop environment (player-coach mindset)

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Ability to balance operational urgency with long-term equipment reliability

Willingness to be on-call as needed to support operational and storm response needs

Compensation Range The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $110,000.00/Yr. - USD $120,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications. Equal Opportunity Employer
