Airswift is looking for: Shipwright
Location: Lunenburg, NS
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Duration: 1-year contract
Roles & Responsibilities
To assist the shipyard service operations by contributing to the productivity of the service team. Working under the management team, looking for a shipwright with experience in fine carpentry, varnish, and traditional boat building. Contribute to completing the jobs on time, working to the best of their ability, and using time and equipment effectively. The goal is a high-quality product under efficient timelines.
Perform service, repair, construction, and/or installation on recreational and commercial vessels General maintenance and repair on marine engines and plumbing, navigational equipment, operating systems, pumps, steering mechanisms, etc. Run diagnostics and trouble-shoot engine and electrical problems Basic operations such as oil changes, tune-ups, part replacement, and plumbing Experience with fine carpentry and varnish work Testing the performance of marine engines and electrical systems Maintain fiberglass, metal, and woodwork as well as all other parts of the vessel Assist on other projects/jobs as required within the yard Experience with boat building
Qualifications & Education Requirements
Minimum high school diploma
Preferred Skills Efficient time management Ability to perform under pressure Ability to adhere to deadlines and time constraints Knowledge of marine service and operations
