What you'll do We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an onsite Shipping Specialist to join our dynamic team in Carlsbad, CA! In this multifaceted role, you'll provide critical support to our Manufacturing, Service, and Engineering departments. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include shipping and receiving, moving materials and equipment, coordinating truck deliveries and pickups, and handling a variety of administrative tasks. Your exceptional organizational skills will be essential in aligning daily operations with company goals and ensuring seamless coordination across teams. You'll also be at the forefront of solving challenges efficiently to meet the needs of both internal and external customers. Maintaining inventory accuracy, condition, and security will be a core focus, involving daily shipment execution, collaboration with Global Trade on international logistics, and regular interactions with freight carriers, craters, and forwarders. The day-to-day Transact shipments through Viasat ERP as required. Assemble and package all items associated with each outgoing shipment. Preparing and managing necessary shipping documents like bills of lading, customs declarations, and shipping manifests. Arrange for pickup and delivery of outgoing freight shipments. Troubleshoot shipping issues and customer issues that may occur; works to resolve these administrative problems and strives to achieve a high level of accuracy. Coordinate the movement of goods via ocean, air, or land, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. Maintain a clean and safe work area and provide updates on shipping supplies stock levels. Address and resolve any issues that arise during the shipping process, such as delays, damage, or customs clearance problems. Assists with receiving or stockroom functions as needed. What you'll need 3+ Years’ experience in Logistics, and/or Supply Chain. High school diploma or GED. Experience in planning, coordinating and managing international shipments. Strong organizational and planning skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in logistics software and systems. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices. US Government Position. US citizenship required. What will help you on the job Operations/Materials Management experience a plus. Experience working with the Oracle or SAP. Experience working with inventory on government property projects. Well versed in ESD, MSD material handling and packaging. Salary range $18.51 - $31.97 / hourly. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $25.24 - $37.74/ hourly At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
