ResponsibilitiesThe Shipping Dock Worker/Forklift Operator is responsible to load and unload inbound or outbound shipments with accuracy and in a timely manner. Helping on monthly cycle counts, accurately documenting all shipments and receipts, and reporting and discrepancies are all tasks of the Shipping Dock Worker/Forklift Operator. This position requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, weekends as required and also fulfill on-call duties for repairs and assistance. The Shipping Dock Worker/Forklift Operator reports directly to the Assistant Shipping Manager or the Shipping Manager.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environmentPractice proper forklift operation and preventive maintenanceImmediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to Production or Yard SupervisorMaintain and build job skills through company training programsAssist with Preventive Maintenance program as requiredConduct visual product quality inspectionsLoad the correct products on outbound shipments with accuracy and in a timely mannerUnload products on inbound shipments in a timely mannerAccurately document all shipments and receipts and report any discrepancyHelp on monthly cycle counts held on the last Saturday of each monthThe ability to process customer shipments including UPS shipmentsContinually expand product knowledgeFollow the direction of the shipping managerUnderstand and practice ADS CORE VALUES

The employee will lift and move heavy items, which will require the ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds to a height of 6 feetThe employee will be working specified shifts and moving around at all times, which will require the ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hoursFacilities can be extremely hot or cold at times, so the employee must have the ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremesThe employee will be handling materials daily, which requires the ability to use hands, arms and legs to physically handle and transport finished goodsThe Position requires full range of body motion on a daily basis including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
