Shipping Coordinator
Job Title: Shipping CoordinatorJob Description The Shipping Coordinator prepares and coordinates shipments to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of products while maintaining complete and compliant shipping records in accordance with internal guidelines and government procedures. This role supports manufacturing and logistics operations by managing documentation, arranging transportation, and ensuring adherence to applicable regulations. Responsibilities + Request government bills of lading and ensure all associated documentation complies with applicable regulations. + Prepare DD250s and WAWF documentation in alignment with contract releases. + Prepare DD1149 forms in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements. + Enter shipment requirements accurately into Exostar and other designated systems. + Prepare commercial invoices for domestic and international shipments as required. + Create packing lists using the designated online program and verify accuracy against shipment contents. + Prepare bills of lading and ensure proper distribution of all shipping paperwork to internal stakeholders and external partners. + Prepare and ship materials in compliance with 49 CFR regulations, including those related to hazardous materials transportation. + Apply regulations regarding hazardous materials transportation and ensure proper identification, handling, and documentation. + Ensure proper identification, security, and handling of government-furnished property throughout the shipping process. + Complete and submit required reports for all finished goods in accordance with internal and government requirements. + Maintain accurate and organized shipping department records, logs, and documentation. + Acquire transportation quotes from freight carriers and forwarders to support cost-effective shipping decisions. + Make final shipping arrangements with freight carriers and forwarders to meet delivery and contractual requirements. + Package small parts securely and accurately for shipment or outsourcing. + Prepare parts and associated paperwork for outsourcing and complete all required system transactions. + Continually look for opportunities to improve manufacturing time and cost related to shipping and logistics, and provide data to support process improvements. + Perform other related duties as assigned to support shipping, logistics, and manufacturing operations. Essential Skills + 2+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or inventory-related roles. + Experience working in a manufacturing environment. + Knowledge of bills of lading and their use in domestic and/or international shipping. + Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information in accordance with government standards. + Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, customers, and the public when necessary. + Ability to adhere consistently to workplace rules, policies, and procedures. + Advanced knowledge and application of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel. + Ability to manage multiple shipments and documentation requirements with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Familiarity with government shipping documentation such as DD250, WAWF, and DD1149. + Understanding of 49 CFR regulations and hazardous materials transportation requirements. + Experience working with Exostar or similar logistics and compliance platforms. + Ability to identify and safeguard government-furnished property within the shipping process. + Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain comprehensive records and documentation. + Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to collect and provide data to support process and cost improvements. Work Environment This position operates in an office environment that supports a manufacturing and logistics operation. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The role requires the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and to perform repetitive motions such as keyboarding, 10-key entry, and phone use. The Shipping Coordinator must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and follow standard precautions, including the use of personal protective equipment as required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallastown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
