- As a shipping clerk, your position will be to assist the shipping manager to ensure a steady workflow of products. This position is responsible for coordinating shipping activities across departments, ensuring accurate packaging, documentation, and dispatch of goods to meet customer expectations and internal deadlines. The Shipping Clerk supports both internal teams and external vendors, ensuring safe and timely deliveries.
Location: West Jordan, UT
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Temp to Hire
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate product movement from the production floor to the shipping staging area.
- Oversee product prep, including photographing and documenting prepackaged items.
- Verify and coordinate proper wrapping and packaging for transit based on shipping requirements.
- Ensure accurate documentation of pallet weights, dimensions, and photographs for shipment records.
- Certified operation and coordination of forklift and crane use for loading/unloading.
- Lead the building of crates and pallets to prepare products for shipment.
- Coordinate and verify secure loading of materials onto flatbed and dry van trailers.
- Monitor proper strapping and securing of all outbound shipments.
- Manage and respond to L2L shipping dispatches in a timely manner.
- Generate itemized packing slips and Bills of Lading for all outgoing shipments.
- Process small parcel shipments using UPS WorldShip and log all tracking and pricing data.
- Assign drivers for all local deliveries and Will Call pickups.
- Collect and file all delivery documentation including driver logs, pre-trip inspections, and signed paperwork.
- Apply all applicable freight signage to outgoing shipments.
- Maintain and organize shipment folders by Job Order and Sales Order on the server.
- Promote and maintain cleanliness and safety using 5S standards within the shipping area.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions and chemical vapors.
- Frequent use of equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and cranes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
- Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Understanding of shipping compliance and safety regulations.
- Experience using ERP systems or inventory management tools.

- Regular walking, standing, sitting, bending, and climbing required.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related shipping/logistics role.
- Valid forklift and crane operator certification (or ability to obtain).
- Strong mathematical, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with UPS WorldShip, shipping software, and basic documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
