The Shipping Associate is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation, packaging, and shipment of goods. This role requires a strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a solid understanding of various shipping carrier procedures. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, efficient, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Order Fulfillment: Accurately pack and label outgoing shipments according to customer orders and company standards.
+ Carrier Management: Prepare shipments using various shipping software and platforms, including FedEx, UPS, and DHL, ensuring compliance with each carrier's specific requirements (e.g., dimensions, weight, labeling).
+ Documentation: Generate and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including packing lists, commercial invoices, bills of lading, and export declarations.
+ Hazardous Materials: (Preferred) Properly prepare, label, and document hazardous material shipments in compliance with IATA, DOT, and other relevant regulations.
+ Quality Control: Inspect outgoing packages for damage or discrepancies, ensuring products meet quality standards before shipment.
+ Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations within the warehouse environment.
+ Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies or issues, escalating complex problems to the Shipping Manager as needed.
+ Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and shrink wrap machines.
+ Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other warehouse team members, customer service, and sales departments to ensure smooth operations.
**Qualifications You Must Have:**
+ Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
+ Must be a U.S. citizen
**Qualifications We Prefer:**
+ Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse environment.
+ Proven experience utilizing shipping software and processes for major carriers, including FedEx, UPS, and DHL.
+ Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 25 lbs.
+ Strong basic math skills and attention to detail.
+ Excellent organizational and time management skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
+ Experience with hazardous material shipping regulations (IATA, DOT, IMDG) and proper documentation.
+ Forklift certification.
+ Experience with SAP operating system.
+ Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting.
