Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. In this role, you will handle shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in coordinating freight shipments, processing purchase orders, and maintaining system records. This is a Contract to Permanent position in the manufacturing industry, offering an opportunity to grow within a dynamic work environment. Responsibilities: • Coordinate and process daily freight shipments, including preparing bills of lading and invoices using carrier software. • Verify packing slips against purchase orders and ensure accurate entry into the system. • Utilize Sage 100 software to manage shipping and receiving operations effectively. • Communicate with carriers to arrange shipments and resolve issues. • Manage international freight shipping processes, including documentation and setup. • Maintain organized records of shipments and receiving activities to ensure compliance and accuracy. • Collaborate with team members to address logistics requirements and ensure timely delivery. • Handle 5-6 shipments daily while multitasking in a fast-paced environment. • Provide support in processing sales orders and purchase orders. • Utilize Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting relevant shipping data. Requirements • Previous experience in shipping and receiving operations, including freight coordination. • Familiarity with Sage 100 or similar ERP systems is a plus. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively. • Knowledge of international shipping procedures and documentation is a plus. • Experience with purchase orders, sales orders, and vendor invoices. • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with carriers and team members. • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting purposes.
