Job Description
The Shipping Specialist is responsible for preparing and packaging final products for shipment. This includes processing shipments electronically within the ERP system, printing packing slips and bills of lading, and scheduling LTL shipments when necessary. They ensure all shipments are labeled correctly, picked up by the appropriate carrier, and delivered without damage. Efficient packaging is crucial to avoid waste while using best practices with boxes, pallets, and crate building. Additionally, the Shipping Specialist is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all shipping paperwork.
ResponsibilitiesVerify and sign off on packed items using order numbers, part numbers, descriptions, and quantities.Package smaller boxed items safely, maximizing protection and minimizing packaging waste.Secure and protect boxed or unboxed items on pallets or in crates for outgoing shipments.Modify or construct custom pallets or crates from raw wood materials as needed.Process shipments in the ERP system and print packing slips or bills of lading for carriers.Ensure packages are correctly picked up by the carrier.Essential Skills1-2 years warehouse/shipping experience.Ability to operate a sit-down forklift.Proficiency in packing, picking, and inventory management.Ability to lift 75 pounds.Additional Skills & QualificationsForklift experience preferred.Some carpentry experience preferred.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work in a climate-controlled environment with approximately 15 people in the shop. The facility is well-equipped with overhead cranes, dock levelers, and power tools, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
