Job Description Ship Manager – Belgium

I am seeking a proactive and experienced Ship Manager to join my client's team in Belgium. This role is key to ensuring the efficient maintenance, coordination, and operational readiness of the fleet.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning & Coordination:
Plan and coordinate maintenance activities, including Corrective (KO), Scheduled (GO), and Urgent (IO) tasks. Distribute work orders to the relevant Workshop Managers (WSMs). Schedule personnel for project execution in consultation with WSMs. Project Oversight:
Manage all phases of maintenance projects, including:
Test Before Maintenance (TBM) Project Execution Plan (PUP) Setting to Work & Harbour Acceptance Trials (STW/HAT) Review of Seaworthiness Protocol Material Lists (MZWH) Follow-up on Sea Acceptance Trial (SAT) tests Daily Operations:
Monitor onboard maintenance activities and coordinate with WSMs. Create, track, and follow up on work orders: Extra (MR), Operational Defect (OD), and Onboard Assistance (BA). Attend and contribute to weekly project meetings and toolbox meetings. UK Operations Coordination:
Coordinate and supervise work executed in the UK. Maintain communication between Belgium and the UK Single Point of Contact (SPOC). Cost & Reporting Management:
Control maintenance costs and track spare parts and subcontractors per ship. Ensure timely and accurate reporting. Prepare invoices for clients as required. Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a maritime or engineering background. Proficient in Dutch, and English. Strong computer skills: MS Office Suite and MS Project. Valid driving license (Category B). Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills.
