Shift Supervisor - Logistics
Position Summary:Monitors day-to-day operations for compliance to establish safety and logistics procedures.
Schedule: Monday - Friday  / Hours: 7:00AM - 5:00PM - schedule may vary based on the business needs Major Responsibilities: 
 

People / Collaboration
•    Engage daily with team members to coordinate work activities and support operational goals
•    Interact professionally with customers to ensure service expectations are met
•    Foster a respectful, collaborative work environment through effective communication and teamwork

Operations
•    Evaluate current work processes and recommend improvements to enhance customer satisfaction
•    Effectively manage deadline pressures while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented attitude
•    Ensure customer product is stored, handled, and/or delivered in a timely, damage-free manner
•    Support shipping and receiving activities, including product movement, documentation, and accuracy checks
•    Complete other projects and tasks as assigned by management

Finance
•    Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, including inventory accuracy, controls, returns, and damage reporting
•    Understand how individual actions and decisions impact costs and overall profitability

Safety
•    Understand and apply the location’s safety strategy in daily work
•    Monitor work areas for safety issues and reinforce safe work practices through example
•    Facilitate driver training related to safety, procedures, and operational expectations
•    Participate in safety meetings and support safety initiatives

Growth / Customer Experience
•    Present a positive, “can do” attitude when engaging with customers and internal partners
•    Understand location-specific customer goals and objectives
•    Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and communicate recommendations

Fleet / Assets
•    Facilitate driver training related to equipment use, processes, and compliance standards
•    Verify vehicles and equipment are in proper working order and report issues as needed
•    Complete and submit required maintenance documentation to the appropriate vendor (PTL, etc.)
•    Ensure vehicles and equipment are properly secured when not in service
 

Qualifications:-3-5 years transportation experience required-2 years supervisory experience in a warehouse environment preferred.-High School Diploma or equivalent required-Bachelors Degree preferred -Must possess good communication skills as well as organizational and problem solving skills.-Must be able to use CRT,  PC, scanners, calculators and related equipment.-Must have MS Office & TMS knowledge-Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills are required-Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required. Physical Requirements:-The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
