Shift Lead Maintenance

Factory ZERO is our first, all-electric automotive assembly plant and the blueprint of General Motors' electric future! We have a corporate vision of “Zero crashes, Zero emissions, Zero congestion.” Our most novel products like the Hummer EV and Silverado EV will be assembled right in this facility. This requires us to employ the most upbeat, capable, and innovative talent to ensure we meet the challenges of developing the new manufacturing processes required to assemble these amazing products! The Role:

The Tech Shift Lead has responsibility for a large group of employees including first- and second-line supervisors engaged in machine and plant maintenance activities in a department, group of departments, shift or plant operations. Work involves a considerable amount of initiative in decision making and is accompanied by a high level of independent judgment.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities) :Participates in the selection of new employeesTrains, develops, and evaluates employeesAdministers and coordinates plant engineering programs such as energy conservation, utility usage, and construction projectsCoordinates the design and engineering of maintenance, utility and construction projects to meet existing and projected requirementsMaintains budget accounts for plant engineering areas and operates within the guidelines of plant engineering budgetFollows the terms of local and national labor agreementsMaintains safety and good housekeeping standardsEstablishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or projectCoordinates feedback from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptionsActively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities

Additional Job DescriptionYour Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):Minimum 7 years of Management/Leadership experience within a Manufacturing/Assembly Plant environmentStrong analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficultProven technical and professional skills in job-related areaHigh level of oral/written communication and interpersonal skills to work optimally with othersDetailed understanding of mechanical concepts.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or equivalent experienceExperience/knowledge of GM Global Manufacturing System (GMS)Knowledge of continuous improvement processes (CIP)
