Job Title: Shift Engineer
Department: Engineering / Technical Services

Reports To: Technical Manager / Facility Manager
Job Purpose:
To ensure smooth operation and maintenance of all technical services during the assigned shift, including Electrical, HVAC, Fire & Safety, Plumbing, and other MEP systems, while maintaining safety, statutory compliance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations & Maintenance
Ensure uninterrupted operation of Electrical, HVAC, DG, UPS, Fire Fighting, STP, WTP, and Plumbing systems.Monitor all critical equipment parameters during the shift.Attend breakdown complaints and ensure timely resolution.Maintain shift logbooks and record all operational activities.Conduct routine inspection of plant rooms and technical areas.2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Execute preventive maintenance as per the approved schedule.Ensure timely closure of corrective maintenance tasks.Coordinate with vendors for specialized maintenance activities.Ensure proper housekeeping in plant rooms and service areas.3. Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all safety standards and statutory regulations.Conduct toolbox talks and ensure safe work practices.Monitor fire alarm panel and emergency systems during shift.Ensure all safety permits (PTW) are properly followed.4. Team Management
Supervise technicians and operators during the shift.Allocate daily tasks and monitor performance.Guide and train junior staff on operational procedures.5. Client Coordination
Respond to client complaints related to technical issues.Coordinate with Client / Tenant representatives during emergencies.Support audits and inspections by internal or external stakeholders.6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily shift reports and incident reports.Update asset history and maintenance records.Escalate major breakdowns to Technical Manager / Facility Manager.Qualifications:
Diploma / B. Tech in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.Valid Electrical Supervisor License (if applicable).Experience:
3–6 years of experience in Facility Management / Commercial / Retail / Corporate Building operations.Hands-on experience in MEP systems.Key Skills:
Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems.Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Good communication and reporting skills.Ability to work in rotational shifts.Basic knowledge of BMS systems.
