The Foundry Operator is responsible for performing a variety of tasks in the aluminum casting process, including working with molds, molten aluminum, shake-out machines, and related equipment. This role requires close attention to safety, part specifications, and quality standards to ensure the consistent production of high-quality castings.Key Responsibilities:
Safely carry molten aluminum in ladles (up to 75 lbs.) from furnaces to molds.
Pour molten aluminum into molds, ensuring the sprue is kept filled at all times.
Degas metal, skim ladles, and ensure aluminum is clean prior to pouring.
Operate shake-out machines, cranes, and hoists to remove castings from molds.
Use hand tools (wire brush, sledgehammer, etc.) to remove sand, risers, and gates from molds.
Perform visual inspection of castings to ensure adherence to specifications and quality guidelines.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Follow all prescribed safety rules and use required PPE at all times.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Ability to read, write, and speak English to understand instructions and complete required documentation.
6–12 months of prior foundry experience preferred.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Degassing equipment
Ladles, molds, and flasks
Sledgehammer, wire brush, and other hand tools
Physical & Environmental Demands:
Standard 8-hour shifts; overtime may be required.
Constant standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 lbs.
Exposure to hot, dusty, and noisy environments (hot in summer, cool in winter).
Requires use of PPE: hearing protection, safety glasses/face shield, hard hat, steel-toed boots, and fire-retardant clothing.
Work Schedule & Expectations:
Continuous physical and mental concentration required to perform duties safely and accurately.
Must work collaboratively and maintain productivity while following all quality and safety requirements.
