We’re recruiting a Setting Out Engineer for a landmark $160 million mixed-use construction project on the beautiful island of Barbados. This is a client side role working for the Developer, on this high-profile development combining residential, commercial, and hospitality elements—an exciting and complex build that requires exceptional precision and quality from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accurately set out works on-site in line with design drawings and specifications.
• Liaise with project managers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure seamless coordination across disciplines.
• Conduct and document site surveys and as-built records.
• Oversee and enforce quality assurance and quality control procedures to maintain the highest construction standards.
• Proactively identify discrepancies or issues in drawings/specs and communicate solutions.
• Assist in the preparation and review of ITPs, method statements, and QA documentation.
• Ensure all works comply with local regulations and international standards.
• Key Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar setting out role, ideally with exposure to major mixed-use or commercial builds.
• Main Contracting background, site-based, with strong background in QA/QC, and a hands-on approach to enforcing and documenting compliance.
• Proficient in total stations, GPS systems, and AutoCAD.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• Caribbean or overseas project experience desirable. Although not essential.
Salary:
USD 8,000 to 9,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
