Servo Motor Specialist
Job Title: Servo Motor Specialist Location: Washington , PA Type: Direct Hire Compensation: Open Contractor Work Model: Onsite Servo Motor Specialist Objective Establish and maintain optimal performance of servo-driven motion control systems across industrial automation operations. Focus on system reliability, precision tuning, and rapid fault resolution to support continuous manufacturing processes. Responsibilities + Deploy and integrate servo motor assemblies, drive controllers, and feedback mechanisms per technical specifications and engineering documentation + Execute diagnostic procedures and corrective actions on motion control hardware including amplifiers, motors, and position sensing devices + Conduct scheduled inspection protocols and component replacement activities to prevent unplanned equipment failures + Configure drive parameters for motion profile optimization including acceleration curves, positioning accuracy, and force output management + Resolve technical faults affecting encoder feedback loops, resolvers, and fieldbus communication infrastructure + Generate comprehensive service records documenting interventions, component modifications, and maintenance cycles + Analyze circuit diagrams, control logic sequences, and equipment manuals to isolate and correct system malfunctions + Partner with production and technical departments to enhance machine uptime and operational efficiency + Transfer technical knowledge to operations personnel and technician colleagues + Manage critical component inventory and identify replenishment needs + Champion reliability improvement projects targeting equipment performance gains Requirements + Technical diploma in electrical engineering technology, mechatronics, automation systems, or equivalent professional background + 3-5 years demonstrated field experience with servo motor technology and industrial motion drives + Comprehensive knowledge of brushless AC/DC motors, stepper motor systems, and servo motor architectures + Working proficiency across multiple servo drive platforms and control ecosystems in industrial use + Practical understanding of motion control architectures, programmable logic controllers, and industrial Ethernet protocols including EtherNet/IP, Profinet, and Modbus + Capability to decode electrical diagrams, control wiring layouts, and technical documentation + Physical capacity to handle components up to 50 pounds intermittently + Willingness to work in elevated positions and restricted access areas as maintenance demands + Availability for non-standard shift coverage including overnight and weekend emergency response when production-critical situations arise Preferences + Four-year degree in electrical engineering or related engineering discipline + Background with robotic systems, computer numerical control equipment, or conveyor automation platforms + Professional credentials in motion control technology or drive system specialization + Working knowledge of electrical safety frameworks (NFPA 70E) and occupational safety requirements + Experience developing or modifying operator interface systems and supervisory control platforms + Exposure to condition-based maintenance strategies and vibration/thermal monitoring technologies System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
