Key Accountabilities:
Service, troubleshoot, repair and overhaul engines, propulsion systems and their electronic systems adhering to all safety guidelines and in accordance with RRS Code of ConductProvide on-site work, maintain active list of project timelines and prioritize job tasksRequest parts and tools to perform job functionsSource local vendors required for field service in cooperation with purchasingInspect parts to assure conformance to specificationPerform field inspections of failed parts and write reports to avoid future incidentsMaintain engine, vessel and equipment log booksMaintain detailed records of daily activitiesPrepare work estimatesCommission and operate engines and propulsion systemsInstrument propulsion systems and record test dataWork with product groups on product design developmentWrite and provide input for updates of service manuals and bulletinsInstruct customers in safe engine operation, shutdown procedures and troubleshootingMentor and provide technical assistance to other service personnelAnalyze technical data and remain technically current.Always maintain a clean and safe work areaPromote a safety and compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of ConductPerform special projectsBasic Requirements:

We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this timeTwo years mechanical trade school or Associate's Degree in Engineering Science or Mechanical Technology and 3 years field service, mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience; or 7 years field service, mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experienceAbility to travel 70-100% on short notice domestic and internationalAbility to lift, push, pull weights in the 20-60 lb rangePreferred Qualifications:
Strong experience in the testing of diesel engine componentsStrong skills in the operation and troubleshooting of engines, instrumentation and electronic engine controlsStrong skills in the use of mechanical and electrical hand toolsStrong skills in the use of measurement and testing tools for mechanical and electrical systemsStrong knowledge of internal combustion engine operationsStrong knowledge in technical language and engineering terminologyStrong knowledge in the practical principles of electronics, physics, hydraulics and pneumaticsStrong proven ability to operate machine shop equipment used for fabricating test parts and equipmentGood oral and written communication skillsGood factory representation, customer service and interpersonal skillsGood organizational, planning and follow up skillsGood analytical and creative problem-solving skills when problems are very complexGood knowledge in the physical properties of fuels, coolants, lubricants and oilsAbility to bend down, stand over, lay down and complete work tasks within the tight confines typical of marine engine compartments and/or engine rooms for long periods of timeProficient in the use of a PC and MS Office SuiteExperience with MTU engines and electronicsProficiency in utilizing precision measurement tools, including dial gauges, bore gauges, and micrometers, to ensure exceptional accuracyCAD software proficiencyExperience in operating fork lift trucksExperience in rigging of weights up to 1 tonRolls-Royce is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
