Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Service Technician to join our team, focusing on assembling and servicing Highway brand utility trucks. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with the opportunity for overtime. Candidates will be responsible for assembling diggers and excavators, as well as working on a variety of equipment.
ResponsibilitiesBuild and install hydraulic systems, electrical wiring, and mechanical components on truck-mounted equipment.Fit, weld, bolt, and secure parts using hand and power tools to create fully functional utility vehicles.Follow blueprints and layout diagrams to assemble complex systems from the ground up.Tear down and rebuild pumps, cylinders, valves, and other hydraulic components.Replace worn or damaged parts, fabricate brackets and mounts, and recondition assemblies to factory standards.Use diagnostic tools to pinpoint mechanical failures and restore equipment to working condition.Wire control panels, lighting systems, and power units for cranes, lifts, and service bodies.Troubleshoot electrical faults using multimeters and schematics.Ensure all connections meet safety and performance standards.Cut, grind, and weld metal to modify truck frames, mounts, and brackets.Customize builds based on customer specs, including tool storage, lift configurations, and control layouts.Operate shop equipment like plasma cutters, drill presses, and hydraulic presses.Essential Skills1-2+ years of recent mechanic, automotive tech, or diesel tech experience.Mechanic, electrical, hydraulics, chassis, diesel, automotive repair.Proficiency with hand and power tools.Ability to read and understand blueprints.Strong cognitive thinking, mechanical troubleshooting, and repair skills.Experience with wiring and installations.Additional Skills & QualificationsOwn a proper toolbox/cart with 200-300 piece sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, hex keys, torque tools.Wiring and 12v electrical service tools.Drills and impact tools.Preferred: Large wrenches, prybar set, hammer set, work lights.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
This role is based in a medium-sized manufacturing and service shop with three distinct service areas for different industries. The work environment includes areas for welding/fabricating, building chassis, and servicing vehicles, along with a full paint booth. Candidates should be comfortable working in close proximity to others, as the shop can become busy and cramped.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $70720.00/yr.

PTO: 80 hours year 1, 120 hours years 2+. (They are not strict about PTO. If someone needs to step away they will not give anyone a hard time.)
