Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service & Front-End Leadership
Support the Service Operations Manager with daily responsibilities and assigned tasks.
Champion corporate and division customer service initiatives to consistently meet or exceed service expectations.
Monitor and guide front‑end operations, including customer traffic flow, lane coverage, overall cleanliness, and appearance of the checkstands, front-end sales floor, restrooms, entryway, and parking lot.
Serve as a cashier as needed to support business demands.
Front-End Merchandising & Presentation
Ensure checkstand merchandisers maintain a fresh, full, and organized appearance.
Maintain proper signage and cleanliness throughout all checkstands.
Compliance & Policy Adherence
Comply with—and ensure team compliance with—all Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to:
Cash handling
Employee purchase policy
Restricted product sales (alcohol and tobacco)
Coupon and gift card policies
Scan accuracy
Supervising minor employees
Product return policy
WIC procedures
Sanitation, safety, and security
Grooming and dress code standards
Check acceptance procedures
Report all policy violations to store management promptly.
Point-of-Sale & Cash Management
Ensure accurate operation and functionality of the Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system.
Assist in managing cash flow requirements, including safe transactions, till issues and pickups, check acceptance, refunds, and cashier cash-handling practices.
Partner with the Scan/FMC Team to resolve scanning file discrepancies in a timely manner.
Administrative & Operational Support
May perform administrative tasks such as:
Running totals on all tills
Preparing and proofing daily deposit slips
Completing all front‑end forms
Report any operational issues to the Service Operations Manager for resolution.
Customer Service Center & Communication
Understand all aspects of the Customer Service Center and provide services to customers as needed.
Professionally answer and respond to incoming phone calls.
Professional Conduct
Perform all responsibilities with honesty, integrity, and in full compliance with Company policies and procedures.
Carry out all other duties as required.
