Service Specialist Role

 As a Service Specialist you will join Trane’s best-in-class Key Accounts Commercial HVAC team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in building efficiency and sustainability through our Service offerings. In this role, you are supporting customer success, driving new business growth, and strengthening long-term client relationships. This role combines opportunity qualification, service coordination, consultative selling, and strategic partner engagement to ensure a seamless, customer-centric experience. The Service Specialist acts as a facilitator throughout the service process—developing business cases, validating outcomes, coordinating with independent service providers and internal associates, and assisting customers make informed decisions that improve the efficiency and sustainability of their buildings.

Support: Collaborate with Key Accounts internal associates to provide a customer‑centric approach by ensuring seamless collaboration between service partners and internal teams.

Initiative: Identify, qualify, and onboard partner contractors across North America to strengthen service delivery capabilities.

Communication: Coordinate scheduling, follow up, and track qualified independent service providers designated as Trane strategic partners.

Facilitate: Help the customer (internal and external) buy, including developing the business case, financial proforma, and validating business outcomes. Gather and validate preliminary data.

Prospecting: Target and identify opportunities. Facilitate discovery and qualify opportunities early in the buying and selling process.

Conflict Management: Navigating challenging situations and conversations with customers in a way that builds trust in the relationship and adapting to market changes, like new competitors and changes in client needs, without compromising the quality of service provided.

Planning: Scheduling service calls, managing business activities and capacity to achieve short and long-term sales targets.

Prioritization: Prioritizing workload and resources, such as allocating resources to customers based on escalations and service expectations.  Manage client timelines to proactively sell, renew, and/or expand service agreements at appropriate times for the customer and the internal team.

Problem Solving: Solving problems creatively, developing persuasive business cases, and validating business outcomes to create a win-win for customers and the organization. To include, troubleshooting a product or service challenge, gathering information, developing multiple possible solutions, and creating a plan to implement them in a way that serves the client's need.

System Management: Input and update customer and independent service provider records as needed in programs assigned.

 What you will bring:

4+ years of experience as a Resource Coordinator and/or Project Management roles.

3+ years of solution sales experience with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

Practical experience and relevant skills are prioritized—candidates without a degree are encouraged to apply.

Excellent customer service skills with high comfort communicating via phone, email, and text.

Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to multi‑task and manage interruptions effectively.

Keen attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.

Technical knowledge of HVAC equipment (or willingness to learn).

Passion for understanding our business and connecting customers with service solutions that support efficient and sustainable buildings.

Ability to engage multiple stakeholders, influencers, and decision makers.

Demonstrated experience generating and qualifying leads, facilitating business‑level customer conversations, establishing value, creating demand, and growing account relationships.

Strong financial and business acumen with a self‑starter mindset and proactive approach.

 

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$65,200.00 - $93,660.00
