Service Sales Manager - CMD Operations

We are looking for a high-reaching Service Sales Manager for our CMD (Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division) service commercial team.

The position is permanent and located in Delhi. It involves in-person visits to customers in the North and East regions, as well as collaboration with service, commercial, and other teams throughout India.

This position suits a Science or Engineering graduate with sales, business development, or client-facing experience. It is perfect for those aiming to build a career in strategic sales and business analysis within a global organization.

What will you do?

Commercial Business Management for Service - North & East Region

As a Service Sales Manager, you will lead service commercial business across North and East regions, concentrating on contract renewals, warranty conversions, spares sales, and on-call service businessDirect and develop the service contract portfolio, securing meaningful contract coverage, renewal rates, and profitability throughout assigned territoriesDevelop and implement strategies to convert warranty customers to comprehensive service contracts, improving customer lifetime valueDrive spares business through proactive customer engagement and identification of customer needs with the help of regional service teamPromote and sell on-call service offerings, qualification activities, hardware upgrades, software upgrades, and customized service products to customersManage important customer accounts in the North and East regions, starting and developing solid customer connectionsObserve rival activities within the service commercial business and formulate opposing strategies

Business Growth - India CMD Business

Identify and nurture new business opportunities for CMD (Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry) products and services throughout IndiaGenerate new business from existing customers and expand footprint in untapped market segmentsBuild strategic partnerships and relationships with key decision-makers in target industriesDevelop and complete go-to-market strategies for new CMD service offerings

Data and Business Insights - India CMD Business

Conduct comprehensive business analysis of India CMD operations, including revenue trends, customer segmentation, and market opportunitiesAnalyze contract renewal patterns, warranty conversion rates, and service penetration metrics to identify improvement areasDevelop data-driven insights and recommendations to optimize service commercial performanceCreate and maintain business dashboards and reports for leadership reviewAccurately forecast future business and plan service sales activities well in advance using data analyticsDevelop and maintain detailed customer/prospect records and ensure that relevant sales tools reflect this informationTrack important metrics including contract coverage, renewal rates, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction indicators

Planning and carrying out projects

Formulate competitive and data-driven pricing quotations aligned with business objectivesFormulate regional business plans for North and East territories that include specific revenue objectives and expansion strategiesCoordinate cross-functional initiatives with service delivery, technical, and commercial teamsPresent business reviews and strategic recommendations to senior leadership

Who we seek:

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Preference given to graduates holding a Science or Engineering degree; having an MBA or a pertinent business qualification is beneficial5-8 years of experience in service sales, business development, or commercial positions, preferably within scientific instruments, analytical equipment, or the life sciences sectorEstablished success in reaching income objectives and promoting company developmentBackground in handling sizable regional zones (North and East India favored)

Skills and Competencies

Proficient in English in read, write and speak; knowledge of Hindi and regional languages is advantageousStrong business insight with ability to analyze data and derive actionable insightsAdvanced proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis, reporting, and forecastingExcellent communication and presentation skills to engage and influence at all levels, from technical users to C-suite executivesStrong negotiation skills with capability to finalize complex agreementsDriven by sales objectives; highly motivated to meet targets and deliver business resultsCritical thinking combined with execution excellenceAbility to work independently and manage time optimally to prioritize and complete tasksProven ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationshipsComfortable with regular travel throughout North and East India (40-50% travel anticipated)Able to adapt to a constantly evolving business environment and changing market dynamics

Preferred Experience

Experience with CMD products (Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, or related analytical instruments)Background in contract management and warranty programsExperience in data analytics and business intelligenceFamiliarity with pharmaceutical, biotech, research, or academic customer segments
