Black & McDonald is currently seeking an experienced Service Plumber (2nd year - Journeyman) to join our Service Division in Calgary, AB! If you are a hands-on, customer service-oriented, and technically inclined professional searching for the opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you. The Service Plumber position is located in Calgary, AB and will report directly to the Service Plumbing Supervisor.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, a great attitude, and a genuine passion for the trade. Service Plumbers are required to be skilled in all manner of pipe joining methods; comfortable with the use of common industry specific hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic tools; and adept at reading and interpreting technical literature.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Perform planned maintenance activities on commercial plumbing and heating equipment. (Not limited to Pumps, Hot Water Tanks, Water Filtration Systems, Backflow Devices)Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial plumbing systemsOrganize, layout and execute small re-pipe, retrofit, and tenant improvement projectsPerform routine and emergency drain cleaning and plumbing tasksConduct suite turnovers, repairs, and general maintenanceComplete daily service reports documenting maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities including service and repair recommendations using B&M mobile service reporting applicationCompile accurate labor and material take-offs for work recommendations and materials orderingWork either autonomously or in teams to complete work efficiently, on time, and on budgetCommunicate clearly and effectively with customers, suppliers, and team members via phone, text, email, and mobile applicationsParticipation in rotating 24/7 emergency on call supports

2nd - 4th Year or Journeyman Plumbing ticket (Required)B-Gas Certification will be considered an assetA-Gas Certification will be considered an assetCross Connection Control Certification will be considered an assetWHIMIS, SCOTT, R&R, Mobile Aerial Platform Training, Fall Protection Training, Confined Space Training will be considered an asset
