We are currently recruiting for a Service Development Manager to join our Components Facility in Goole. This role will be responsible for safely identifying, organising & undertaking the hands-on work involved in reverse engineering components from trains, trams & metros in order to bid for service, repair & overhaul projects of those components with a view for the work to be done by our operational teams.

You’ll make a difference by

Engaging with our business development team to identify components suited to service, repair & overhaul from our Goole factory, and to identify new opportunities and suggest improvements to current product lines. Disassembling and rebuilding components for reverse engineering and ensuring that overhaul work instructions and processes are created and managed in accordance with Siemens' standard engineering practices. Liaising with customers & other stakeholders to organise shipment of the components to our Goole factory for reverse engineering. Interpreting engineering drawing, schematics and physical units, components and parts, and providing instructions on the most suitable and effective methods of overhaul to meet the customer and OEM standards. Researching the products involved, identifying applicable regulations to ensure the processes carried out within this facility meet or exceed their requirements. Working with the Production & Service Delivery teams to ensure that the work instructions align with current activities, and where necessary advising where additional training or skills are required. Assisting with the training, and production of training materials for new and revised work instructions as required.

Your success will be grounded by:

Extensive experience across all areas of Mechanical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Suitable level of qualification or equivalent levels of practical experience in similar activities. Ability to read & understand drawings & draft technical documentation. Good knowledge of IT systems/software. Self-management and organizational skills.

It would also be beneficial to have:

Time Served Apprenticeship or HNC+ Rail Industry or other commercial vehicle maintenance experience Experience in a heavy manufacturing product service environment Experience of developing Work Instructions & technical documentation
