Location: GM facility in Lake Orion, MI
Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our materials handling team. This role involves daily operations support including inventory management, order fulfillment, equipment operation, and maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & Compliance
Complete Worker Safety Engagement process dailyMaintain and record all required safety and operational paperworkPerform daily Workplace Organization (WPO) and cleaning of assigned work areasMaterials Handling & Logistics
Operate flatbed burden carriers and forklifts throughout the facilityUnload packages from delivery vehicles safely and efficientlyMake in-plant deliveries and prepare materials for outbound shipmentsCheck Point of Use (POU) areas for empty bins and coordinate crib replenishmentInventory Management
Review packing slips and verify material counts for accuracyFill customer orders and verify balance on hand quantitiesProcess transactions accurately in SAP systemReport discrepancies to Supervisor for follow-up and correctionCustomer Service & Teamwork
Interface professionally with plant customers and team membersComplete supply runs and label runs as assignedSupport additional tasks as directed by SupervisorRequired Skills & QualificationsEducation & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious warehouse or materials handling experience preferredTechnical Skills
Basic computer proficiency for inventory management systemsAbility to read and interpret packing slips and work ordersStrong attention to detail for accurate record keepingPhysical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as requiredCapability to stand and walk for extended periodsManual dexterity for handling various package sizesEssential Competencies
