ChristianaCare is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Service Assistant I to join our Food & Nutrition Services team. This dynamic role supports both our retail and catering operations, ensuring exceptional service and high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Key Responsibilities:Catering Support:Organize, set up, and deliver catering services to designated locationsPrepare beverages, salads, sandwiches, and box mealsEnsure professional presentation and timely setup of catering eventsClean up catering setups and properly sanitize equipmentCommunicate with customers and assist with planning future catering needs

Retail Operations:Serve customers in a fast-paced retail food environmentStock inventory and maintain sanitation standardsAssist with pot washing and food preparationOperate dish machines and ware washing equipmentMaintain clean and organized workspaces

Schedule: Every other weekend & holiday rotation required; varied hours based on catering events.

Retail Shift Hours:5:30 AM – 2:00 PM6:30 AM – 3:00 PM11:00 AM – 7:30 PM11:15 AM – 7:45 PM

Catering hours will vary based on scheduled events (morning and evening shifts).

Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferred (or currently enrolled)Minimum 1 year of catering experience preferredAbility to lift and walk with up to 30 lbsStrong communication and customer service skillsKnowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
