ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Black & McDonald’s NOR (North Ontario Region) Service team is growing! If you are an independent, enthusiastic and driven professional searching for an opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you. This position reports directly to the Division Manager and will be working in Ottawa for the NOR region.

The primary goal of the Service Account Representative is to ensure client satisfaction, contract delivery and secure projects with our existing client base.

Use the client review process to discover opportunities with existing clientsUtilize the training provided to prospect, qualify, support estimating, prepare proposals, and secure sustainable service project business as per sales and margin quotasEstablish and maintain working relationships with customers and ensure contract delivery is to Black & McDonalds’ expectations.Follow up on inbound/outbound leads. Assess the prospect’s needs, provide a general introduction of Black & McDonald’s services, qualify the prospect and schedule formal meetings to begin the sales process.Work with existing and new customers to life cycle plan and budget equipment repairsConduct business with diplomacy in order to create superior experience as a frontline contact for the companyWrite proposals, conduct equipment surveys and develop replacement pricing documentsReview results of completed projects with Management and project team membersAnalyze competition to ensure we are both fair and competitiveAssist with any special requestsFocus on continuous improvement in all areas of workProvide feedback and recommendations on marketing efforts based on direct experiences with clientsContinual professional and personal developmentActively participate in company meetings and marketing events

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

A university degree or college diploma in business, engineering or related field as appropriate.Years of experience as a qualified tradesperson in the construction mechanical and/or HVAC industry may substitute for education requirements.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1-3 years’ experience in the trades or an account management role. Project sales experience would be considered an assetBuilding automation controls experience would be considered an asset

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Able to travel on occasion in order to meet prospect requests and project requirementsExcellent organizational and time management skillsSolid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skillsProject management and implementationSafe Work PracticesCompetency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applicationsValid Class 5 Driver’s License

The expected salary range for this role is between $55,000 - $70,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as group insurance benefits, pension plan, annual discretionary bonus, career development programs, and other HR programs.
