Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Functional Homeroom Systems Engineering Manager 2 to lead the Staff Support Thread Lead / Staff Engineer teams within the Mission and Weapon System Engineering (MWSE) department of the Aerospace Vehicle and Systems Integration (AVSI) directorate. This position will be located in Roy, Utah.

This is a functional home room (FHR) manager position, involving both the overall functional oversight and management of a Systems Engineering group of up to 12 engineers, while maintaining a technical baseline of performance on program work. The candidate will spend ~20% of their time on functional/organizational support and ~80% of their time on a mix of technical program work from current/existing tasking, or potential future tasking. Functional management involves, but is not limited to, organizational administrative activities and helping employees’ performance and career development through guidance and training. Program responsibilities will be dependent upon programmatic technical work and may vary by individual, existing assignment; the candidate will bring technical / program work from existing assignment(s), and may support one or more teams within MWSE and/or AVSI or outside the directorate.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 6 years of related experience
• 1+ year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) from an accredited university with 6 years of experience, or 4 years of experience with a Master's degree.
• 3+ years of leadership experience in a multi-disciplined environment.
• Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Solid understanding of the Systems Engineering and Integration and Test processes on the Sentinel Program .
• 7+ years of leadership experience in a multi-disciplined environment.
• 2+ years experience leading teams in a functional, programmatic or technical capacity.
• Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
