Satisfaction with all eligibility requirements as dictated by any customer account or business area that you will be supporting. The eligibility requirements for continued employment in this position include, but may not be limited to, obtaining DBIDS to access shipyards. Further information may be provided under separate cover. You’re being granted a Basic Welder (SMAW 7018 / FCAW 71T 3 plate position in each, 2 processes) Certification within 30 days of your start date. Moreover, your continued employment is contingent on your ability to obtain and maintain such a certification.
• Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other materials that require welding.
• Works from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts, or work orders.
• Lays out and marks points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.
• Uses measuring instruments and hand tools to positions pieces requiring welding into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps.
• Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.
• Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced welders.
• May serve as a team leader.
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Participates in special projects, as required.
Education
(1) Requires a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience
(2) Technical or vocational training preferred
(3) One or more professional certifications may be required, depending upon job assignment
Experience
3-5 years of related welding experience.
