Reporting to the Applications Specialist Manager, the Senior Water Engineer- Semiconductor/Ultra Pure Water is responsible for serving as an internal technical consultant, using technical expertise and detailed industry knowledge to help solve customers’ most critical business and operational needs. This role collaborates with sales, product management, marketing, and R&D to ensure our products meet customer requirements and drives growth in the targeted industry.
This position is part of the Applications Specialist team located in North America and will be remote.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
Acting as a recognized industry expert in Semiconductor and Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) markets.
Maintaining a high level of expertise in all areas of applications and associated products within Semiconductor and UPW markets.
Working closely with sales and project pursuit teams to define go-to-market strategies.
Solving complex customer treatment/monitoring problems, delivering efficiencies, optimization, and cost savings.
Providing key market insight to internal sales, marketing, and business unit groups to facilitate strategic business and marketing plans.
Contributing to product planning and development by providing voice-of-customer and application insight.
Developing sales collateral and application notes, and supporting products during customer visits, tradeshows, and training programs.
Leading presentations at Hach-sponsored and national industry seminars and conferences.
Delivering or supporting training programs as assigned.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree (BS) required; MS or PhD preferred. Degrees in Chemistry, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Materials), or equivalent.
8–10 years of technical applications experience in similar products and services.
Direct experience managing or designing UPW systems and critical utilities.
Direct experience or working knowledge of semiconductor fab economics and best practices.
Direct customer commercial/sales/project experience.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including domestic and international travel.
Experience operating in global markets; Asia market experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $140,000.00 - $175,000.00 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
