Senior Vice President Chief Nursing Officer - McLaren Careers
**Position Summary:** Provides oversight for the clinical, operational and financial practice of nursing across the continuum of care; including all acute and ambulatory settings to enable consistent practices, standards, evaluation and adherence to common standards of competency and excellence of nursing across the McLaren Health Care. Visionary leader that brings clinical and operational solutions to the nursing care by driving results, championing innovation and stimulating new thinking. Supports transformation initiatives to advance care and quality outcomes across the system in an integrated and cost-effective manner. Leads the development and implementation of a clinical nursing practice model that reflects and drives best practices, patient safety, and clinical results. Serves as the internal and external champion of nursing for McLaren forming partnerships with external organizations, colleges, universities, and partners to support nursing recruitment, retention, scholarship, and practice excellence. The SVP/Chief Nursing Officer works in a highly collaborative manner – engaging subsidiary leadership, along with the system EVP/Chief Operating Officer – to deliver results for McLaren. **Essential Functions and Responsibilities:** 1. Develops, integrates, and standardizes nursing practices across MHC, assuring that care delivery model(s), clinical staffing standards for nursing and patient care are consistent with current professional standards and within the mission, vision, and strategic plan of the organization. 2. Works closely with EVP/Chief Clinical Officer of MHC to execute high-quality, safe clinical care delivery across the continuum of care within MHC. 3. Actively partners with physician and other clinical leadership across MHC to enable coordinated and aligned interprofessional team-based care. 4. Actively supports MHC EVP/Chief Operating Officer, with a matrix-reporting relationship, to advance operational priorities of the health system. 5. Partners closely with Clinical Excellence department to advance nursing quality and safety measures, such as the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) and other quality and patient safety initiatives. **Qualifications:** **Required:** Master’s degree required. If non-nursing Masters, Bachelor of science in nursing additionally required. * Current State of MI nursing license. * Ten years’ experience of progressive responsibility within hospital operations managing patient care services, leading improvements in quality, patient satisfaction, nursing productivity and cost of care. Extensive experience building collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals and a record of driving cultural change within an integrated delivery network. **Preferred:** * Preference to candidates who hold, or are in process of completing, an advanced degree in nursing such as a Doctor of Nursing Practice or PhD in nursing-related field. * Nurse Executive Certification. * Prior role as hospital or regional Chief Nursing Officer or Chief Nursing Executive is desired. **Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans**
