This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Electrophysiology Medical Device division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
What You'll Work On
Recruit and develop team of production supervisors, manufacturing engineers and technicians to support manufacturing across multiple shiftsCollaborate with executive leadership and other functional group managers in setting long term goals for the team and site performanceProvide leadership to engineering staff regarding project prioritization, process validations and continuous improvement activitiesManage new product development and introduction from design phase to manufacturing, including initial product ramp up for commercial launchUtilize lean manufacturing tools to effectively resolve manufacturing issues as well as to improve process capabilitiesDevelop and implement manufacturing schedules and procedures and allocate labor and capital resources to maximize productivity.Analyze production, maintenance, and malfunction records to identify problems and recommend solutions (for example changes to procedures, workflow, or equipment) that will improve performance.Liaise with functional or operational area managers (for example in supply and logistics, or sales) to understand their current and future product needs and develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing manufacturing activitiesPlan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance or downtimes to minimize disruptions for ablation catheter and diagnostic catheter manufacturingLead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of supervisors who are responsible for various production activities such as assembly, machine operation, processing, treating, or packaging.Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignmentsMaintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.Required Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years in Manufacturing/process development experience, with minimum 5 years of people management experienceBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, operationsExperience with statistical techniques (i.e. DOE, SPC) as well as Lean manufacturing techniques, value stream mapping and continuous improvement methodologies. Solid knowledge of GMP and ISO regulations.Demonstrated success in leading manufacturing technology transfer project to global operationsExperience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferredAbility to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environmentStrong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business resultsAbility to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environmentStrong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely mannerStrong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountableAbility to travel approximately 20%, including internationally.Preferred Qualifications:

The base pay for this position is $127,300.00 – $254,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
