Job Description
naTo manage underwriting processes, assess and evaluate medical risks in line with company policies and procedures.The following key outputs are required from this role.
Endorsing and invoicing client accountsTimely response to customer within service charter standards Ensure completeness of insurance documentationsPrepare premium computations and booking for pre-rated productsFollow up renewal notices to ensure retentionCheck and sign underwriting documentsIssue credit notesEnforce the credit control policy on receivablesMaintain effective business relationships to ensure effective delivery of serviceMonitor service standards within the department to ensure high quality customer service is delivered.Compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental set guidelinesEnsuring formal underwriting guidelines including rate, policy wording and reinsurance terms are complied withIntermediary and client visitsMaintain and account for accountable documents in EDMSNew medical scheme set ups- completion of contract files, payments, member lists etc.Prepare invoices for premium payment.Prepare underwriting department reportsRespond to customer/intermediary queries and complaintsSupervise, train and mentor underwriting assistants to ensure their skills are sharpenedSupport the claims and credit control staff on a day to day basis to ensure a seamless service to clientsTo liaise with intermediaries and maintain positive business partnerships.Ensuring formal underwriting guidelines including rate, policy wording and reinsurance terms are complied withIntermediary and client visitsResponsible for ensuring adherence to, implementation of, and adoption of Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Sanctions-related policies, procedures, and process requirements within Old Mutual and its subsidiaries. This includes execution of customer due diligence processes, ensuring compliance with Know-Your-Customer (KYC) standards, conducting ongoing and enhanced due diligence, and maintaining data quality.
