To underwrite and develop a profitable International Life Sciences book within the Navigators Syndicate business plan across International/Lloyd’s, London & UK markets. Advise, arrange and secure the appropriate cover at a competitive premium.
Responsibilities:
+ Build knowledge and experience to demonstrate an understanding of the risks and exposures relevant to the Life Science sector, including drug manufacturing/API, clinical trials, medical devices/products, and contract research organisations.
+ Contribute to underwriting activities related to the renewal portfolio of business.
+ Participate in the development and implementation of the Life Sciences marketing strategy.
+ Utilise all available underwriting tools, such as rating and exposure assessments.
+ Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within distribution channels in the London Market and international broker networks. § Support the Head of International Environmental & Life Sciences in expanding Life Sciences operations within group offices and Lloyd’s operations.
+ Assist with travel and marketing initiatives to promote The Hartford brand for both new and existing business prospects. § Meet group standards for risk analysis, risk selection, technical pricing, and renewal rate monitoring.
+ Ensure compliance with The Hartford’s best practices and applicable Lloyd’s or local regulations. § Report to Management on a monthly basis regarding the progress of the Life Sciences portfolio against business plans and budgets.
+ Monitor claim developments within the Life Sciences portfolio and coordinate with the claims team as required to facilitate appropriate claim settlements. Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of underwriting results as needed.
Qualifications & Capabilities:

Experience:
+ Strong demonstrable underwriting or broking experience
+ Ability to demonstrate technical capability, experience and understanding of the Life Science sector in a Liability/E&O sense, or technical experience & understanding of similar heavy products for Liability/E&O exposures
+ Strong market facing/broker development skills, including writing new business
+ Interpersonal skills and ability to operate independently in a small team
This role will be based in London, UK and you are required to have the necessary right to work details prior to application.
