Position Summary:
The Senior Underwriter is responsible for underwriting and managing a book of Environmental Professional Liability insurance accounts, including Consultants, Engineers, and Contractors. This position will develop and maintain broker relationships, evaluate risks, determine pricing, and negotiate coverage terms and conditions within assigned authority.
Key Responsibilities:
Underwrite new and renewal business in accordance with company guidelines and profitability goals.Analyze risk characteristics, financial data, and historical loss experience to determine coverage suitability.Collaborate with brokers to develop customized insurance solutions that meet client needs.Develop and maintain strong broker relationships to drive growth and retention.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters.Stay current with industry trends, environmental regulations, and litigation impacting professional liability exposures.Assist in developing underwriting guidelines, forms, and pricing models.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Insurance, or related field.5–8 years of underwriting experience, with a focus on Professional Liability and/or Environmental lines.Strong knowledge of E&O exposures related to environmental consultants, engineers, and contractors.Proven ability to assess risk and make sound underwriting decisions.Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting systems.CPCU, RPLU, or ARM designations preferred.Pay Details:
The base compensation range for this position is $150,000 - $175,000. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting.
