Senior Underground Specialist to lead and contribute to the planning, design, and execution of underground civil engineering works for major industrial projects, including refineries, petrochemical plants, and power plants. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership, and project execution skills to drive high-quality deliverables.
BE in Civil Engineering (required) master’s degree in civil engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Construction Engineering & Management, or Environmental Engineering (preferred) Minimum 10 to 12 years of experience in underground civil engineering works, especially in drainage calculations, site preparation, or similar scopes in oil and gas engineering projects.
Skills & Technical Requirements:
Proficient in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Navisworks, MicroStation, Open Roads/InRoads, or Civil 3D (SSA & InfoDrainage) is preferable. Strong understanding of civil engineering concepts having a familiarity with international design standards (ACI, AISC, API, Eurocode). Excellent technical and analytical skills with a proven ability to deliver high-quality work within deadlines and budget constraints. Willingness to travel and work overseas on deputation as required by the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Documentation
Lead the preparation and review of design calculations, technical drawings, and specifications for underground facilities including civil items like pits, basins etc. , drainage systems, and site development. Oversee the development of material take-offs (MTOs) and cost estimates with accuracy and efficiency.
Project Execution & Leadership
Provide technical leadership and direction to engineering teams and junior engineers during detailed engineering and construction phases. Ensure all deliverables adhere to project standards, safety regulations, and international codes.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure all work aligns with project execution plans and international standards (ACI, AISC, Eurocode, etc.). Lead quality control and assurance activities; review and approve engineering deliverables.
