Job Description
The Senior UKG Pro & WFM Architect is responsible for enhancing and optimizing the configuration, efficiency, and governance of UKG Pro and Workforce Management (WFM) systems. This role partners with HR, Payroll, and Finance teams to deliver scalable, auditable processes, improve system workflows, and ensure accurate payroll, reporting, and security controls.
This is a hands-on, strategic role with a focus on system improvements, process automation, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Levels & System Configuration
· Update and optimize organizational levels based on internal discussions and system design
· Refine state tax setups and evaluate the use of State Organizational levels versus Location fields
· Audit active job codes to inactivate outdated or unused codes and establish a formal job code creation and approval process
Employee Workflow & Process Optimization
· Enable employee workflow alerts for HR/Payroll regarding employee address changes
· Integrate deduction and earnings code creation processes across HRIS, Finance, and Payroll teams
· Create desktop procedures and define roles and responsibilities for onboarding, including lessons learned and after-action debriefs
Security & Role Management
· Audit and clean up security roles, eliminating unused roles and aligning with the new security template
· Prepare roles for automation and execute automated workflows where applicable
· Consolidate and restrict password reset functionality to the HRIS team, cleaning up related roles
Reporting & Payroll Audit Support
· Review specialized data views and UKG Pro reporting to support efficient pre-payroll audits
· Audit payroll processes from a pre-open, pre-check, and post-payroll perspective
· Recommend enhancements to improve the accuracy and efficiency of payroll reporting and auditing
Governance & Knowledge Transfer
· Develop and document procedures, process guidelines, and best practices for HRIS, Payroll, and Finance teams
Provide guidance to HRIS administrators and analysts to maintain system efficiency, compliance, and accuracy

Skills and Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, HR, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
· 8+ years of experience with UKG Pro and WFM systems, including configuration, administration, and optimization
· Hands-on experience with HR, Payroll, and Finance workflows
· Strong understanding of security roles, labor allocations, payroll auditing, and reporting
· Proven ability to implement process improvements and system governance · UKG certifications (Pro, WFM, or Integration Hub)
· Experience with HRIS integrations and system optimization projects
· Knowledge of audit and compliance requirements in payroll and HRIS systems
