What You’ll Be Doing

As the Senior Trust Officer, you will be responsible for the ongoing account management and administration of Estates, Trusts and Powers of Attorney. This involves partnering with a specialized team of professionals within Wealth Management dedicated to working with Estates, Trusts and Powers of Attorney. Primary accountability for the timely, accurate, and professional administration of large and complex estate, trust and power of attorney accounts. You will identify and mitigate account risks while adhering to all CIBC Trust Policies & Procedures, including cash management, fee collection, account opening, etc.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $75,870 to $104,320.

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

How You’ll Succeed

Collaboration - Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, beneficiaries, and co-fiduciaries. Partner with internal teams (Investment Management, Tax Department) and engage external professionals as needed. Trust & Estate Acumen - Demonstrate detailed knowledge of trust, estate, and POA administration, including Indigenous Trusts. Optimize account management and ensure compliance with governing documents.People Management - Mentor and coach team members, fostering a positive work environment and supporting their development. Ensure adherence to policies, standards, and controls.Client Experience - Take ownership and accountability for efficient client problem resolution. Enhance customer loyalty and satisfaction.

Who You Are

You have a university degree or equivalent.You can demonstrate 8-10 years of experience in the Estate & Trust Industry.  You are skilled in accounting, investing, and communicating complex financial, estate, and trust issues. You are proficient with Microsoft Applications and familiar with portfolio management tools.You’re a certified professional. It is an asset if you have obtained the Member Trust Institute (MTI), Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation(s) and/or it is an asset if you have current accreditation and are in good standing as an Investment Representative (IR) with Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization - Investment Dealer (CIRO-ID) to support investments administered under this platform.You're driven to succeed.
