Team Overview:
Edward Jones Trust Company provides a full range of trust, investment management, and custody services to individuals, businesses, charitable organizations, and private foundations. Teams are responsible for new account onboarding and due diligence, account opening, branch training and education, business development, and the development and maintenance of marketing collateral and resources. The team also has accountability for enhancing and delivering the client experience in partnership and collaboration with Financial Advisors and branch teams, internal stakeholders, and external professionals including attorneys and CPAs.

What You Will Do:
The Senior Trust Consultant will serve as the key contact for Edward Jones Branch Team during prospective account review, due diligence and onboarding. This role will take ownership of the new account experience and help ensure clients and branch teams are receiving a high level of service throughout this process. The Sr. Trust Consultant remains a key contact for the branch, while also supporting the Client Service Team and serving as an informal leader within the team. By providing a high-quality client and branch experience, the Trust Consultant's aim is to deepen relationships with branches currently working with the Trust Company in order to expand the number of clients at that branch who consider and utilize trust services.

Responsibilities include:
Category 1: Account Onboarding

Lead account onboarding process and set expectations of all EJTC new accounts with Branch Team and Client.Conduct evaluation and risk assessment of potential new business, to include review of all assets, family and beneficiary situations, tax returns and accountings.Review and initial interpretation of all governing documents for the relationship, to include trust agreements, wills, powers of attorney, beneficiary designations and all contracts relating to the relationship.Consult with Fiduciary Officers on all account types to ensure proper risk and legal issues have been identified and evaluated.Align and guide onboarding workflow of Trust Officers, Portfolio Managers, and Trust Specialists as needed as part of the EJTC Client Service Team.Responsible for communicating with branch team all facets of onboarding process including asset transfer updates after account acceptance.

Category 2: Relationship Management

Promote the services of the Edward Jones Trust Company and occasionally assist with Estate Planning to Edward Jones Clients, Financial Advisors, Branch Teams, and Internal Partners.Serve as the Relationship Manager and key EJTC resource for a group of client relationships and branch teams to ensure ideal client experience.Assist in resolution of any onboarding complaints escalated by branch or clients with recommended solutions.Proactively prospect and communicate with branch teams to develop potential new business.

Category 3: Trust Co Role

Serve as subject matter expert in the areas of trust law, administration of trusts, and trust investments.\\\\Lead and/or participate in initiatives across the Trust Company and firm-wide that improve our ability to serve our clients and support the firm's mission.Partner with other areas in the Trust Company and CCG to provide client specific support.Provide mentoring, feedback, and guidance to Trust Company associates.Comply with the Trust Company policies, procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
What Experience You Need:Bachelor's degree requiredCTFA, JD, or CFP requiredAt least 7-10 years trust and estate management, or related legal or financial services experience requiredKnowledge of advanced fiduciary, gifting, trust management principles, estate planning principles, taxes, insurance, and investment principles and techniques requiredComprehensive knowledge of regulations and applicable laws, tax planning and wealth-transfer strategiesAdvanced ability to balance high-risk compliance, legal, and business decisions;Ability to work in team-based environment, delegate work appropriately, and lead client meetings effectivelyAbility to use trust accounting system, Microsoft products and other automation tools;Ability to effectively train, delegate and informally lead others who provide service to the client and branch teamMust be highly skilled in written and verbal communication (especially in the explanation of complex legal matters to clients that may not have deep acumen in these complex legal matters) and demonstrate high level of interpersonal skillsAbility to informally lead the team and act as a resource for others on the team.What Could Set You Apart:Ability to provide guidance to branch teams on how to identify clients in Trust Company target market;High familiarity with Edward Jones branch team structure, processes and systemsAbility to identify other wealth management products offered by Edward Jones and how they work with EJTC servicesPrior experience working with clients and financial advisors to identify appropriate trust services
Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.

Current INTERNAL home-based associates: While this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status.
