Senior Trade Compliance Specialist (m/f/d)
The Senior Trade Compliance Specialist ensures compliance with Thermo Fisher Scientific's export activities and corporate policies and adhere to applicable U.S. and non-U.S. laws and regulations pertaining to international trade.

A day in the life of a Senior Trade Compliance Specialist (m/f/d):
Is primary contact at the site and works with the Divisional Global Trade Compliance Team and if needed with the Corporate Global Trade Compliance TeamResponsible for transactional order review according to export control regulations (e.g. end-use certificate, complete customer background check etc.)Participate in, develop and conduct training activities for individuals and groups pertaining to export regulationsEvaluate all new Government agency requirements to ensure export compliance with changes and incorporation into day to day operations and standard operating proceduresConnect with affiliated business units overseas to streamline export processesEnsure that proposed transactions are screened for Denied Person and Entities, restricted end-uses, and diversionBlocking, reviewing, and releasing orders and shipments in the relevant systems and contacting decision-makers for approval if vitalProve that the company has detailed current work processes to guarantee adherence to US and local regulations regarding the movement of goods in and out of the country and the internal Import and Export Management SystemsReviewing and updating the export control process and SOP according to business requirementSubmit and/or audit Export declarations submissionsApply for licenses as vitalInteract effectively with multiple functional areas including management, supply chain, distribution, engineering, finance, IT and legal.Supporting general issues/problems related to trade compliance topics (risk management, technology transfer, etc.)Supporting IT projects related to trade compliance processesQualification, Education and skills :
Proven ability in trade compliance/export control in a multinational companyAbility to read and interpret government regulationsExperience in developing work procedures and written instructions.Knowledge in the field of customs regulations and export controlHighly proficient in English (written and spoken)Experience with export control authoritiesIn-depth core competence regarding US and EU export control and sanctions regulationsProficient in PPT and Excel, SAP experience is a plusWhat we offer
