Senior Toolmaker, Global Footwear
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Prototyping of footwear concepts is crucial to product creation and decision-making at Nike! We do everything from incubating new designs and technologies to producing one-of-a-kind products for Nike’s most high-profile athletes and influencers. Our team is a vital component in crafting the future of Footwear, and the Bowerman Footwear Lab’s Toolmaking team is a crucial player that enables innovation and speed throughout Nike’s Footwear teams. As our Toolmaker, you'll work as part of the Nike Mold and Tooling Center (MTC) team. You'll set up and run various 3 and 5 axis Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines efficiently and independently. Communicate with our Programmers and the lead person to ensure a smooth process flow as you prepare material and tooling per the Programmers' set-up sheets and verbal instructions.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As a Nike Toolmaker, you will be an essential member of the Mold & Tooling  team. Critical to supporting the overall strategy of the Bowerman Footwear Lab and mold Creation. In this role, you will be relied upon to help elevate and identify ways to accelerate our current manufacturing processes, challenges, quality, and tools including:

Set up and operate 3 and 5 axis machines

Use verbal and written communication to communicate timelines to manager, programmer, and end user

Measure finished parts and cutting tools using calipers, micrometers, and height gauge

Perform secondary operations using various hand tools and power tools

Provide feedback to programming and design team on any manufacturing issues

Perform daily maintenance task on all machines

Wipe down and remove chips daily

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will work cross-functionally and collaborate with CNC Programmers, Mold Design Engineers, and Maintenance to explore, develop, and deliver high quality and timely NIKE Tooling.

You will be interacting with partners in Nike's Global Footwear, Innovation, and Dimension teams to create first round tooling.

WHAT YOU BRING

High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, experience and training

A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience

Associate's degree in Machine Technology or a related field

Thrive in fast-paced manufacturing environment; familiarity working on  CNC’s, Cutters, or related technologies

Passion for making; technical confidence working with your hands

Versatile, detail-oriented, problem-solving skills, and comfort operating in ambiguity
