About the Role

We’re seeking experienced Senior to Associate Electrical Design Engineers to join a reputable building services consultancy with a strong footprint in Plymouth. You’ll be working on technically challenging and sustainable projects across healthcare, education, commercial, and residential sectors, helping deliver innovative MEP designs with a focus on quality and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop detailed electrical designs including power distribution, lighting, fire and life safety, and building management systemsPrepare and review complex calculations, specifications, single-line diagrams, and detailed CAD/Revit drawingsManage and coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams to ensure integrated and efficient project deliveryCollaborate with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout all project stagesProvide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers, supporting their development and growthEnsure all designs meet current UK standards and regulations, including BS 7671 and CIBSE guidelinesDrive sustainable design practices and incorporate low-carbon technologies into projectsParticipate in design reviews, risk assessments, and quality assurance processes

Candidate Profile

Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related disciplineTypically 5+ years’ experience in building services electrical design within consultancy or similar environmentsStrong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM)Proven technical expertise in electrical system design and knowledge of UK electrical standardsExcellent leadership, communication, and project management skillsPassion for sustainable engineering and innovationChartered status (CEng, IEng) or working towards chartership is preferred
