Job Description
 

Job Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Specialist is responsible for achieving sales and coverage targets within an assigned territory by promoting Gilead’s products to healthcare professionals. This role requires deep therapeutic knowledge, strategic territory planning, and strong collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Achieve sales and frequency targets consistently within the assigned territory.

Promote Gilead’s products to healthcare professionals using in-depth product and disease knowledge.

Develop and execute a territory business plan, including setting targets and defining actions to meet goals.

Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities; develop action plans accordingly.

Manage territory budgets for customer engagements, speaker events, and other external activities.

Represent Gilead at professional events and conferences.

Work cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Marketing, and other internal teams on account-specific initiatives.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and thought leaders.

Lead local sales initiatives and ensure successful execution.

Serve as a role model and mentor to less experienced team members; may lead special projects (e.g., marketing liaison, meeting coordination).

Complete administrative tasks promptly, including CRM updates and expense reporting.

Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, legal, and corporate policies.

Knowledge & Skills

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Expert knowledge of assigned products, therapeutic areas, and patient needs.

Strong understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics.

Proactive in identifying issues and opportunities; able to communicate insights and recommendations to leadership.

Excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Sciences.

Minimum 6–8 years of pharmaceutical or healthcare sales experience.

At least 4 years in specialty sales or within the relevant therapeutic area.

Proven track record of success in a similar role.
